X3 how long to train marines
Engineering skill is completely optional when it comes to boarding. It's nice to have, but train your marines in it only after they have sufficiently high survivability i. Admitting you have a problem is the first step in figuring out how to make it worse. Feb 12, If you are like most then you reload until all 20 make it, then hacking is only ever needed on 2 marines. Unlike mechanical there is no chance of hackers hitting the core at different times, so you'll only ever need those two marines to hack the core.
Mechanical I would spread out so at least each pod has a chance to cut the hull marines. More often than not this won't be a large issue but there is a chance the pods won't land at the same time.
Terran hulls require a higher mechanical skill to penetrate given all other variables are the same. You'd be surprised how fast you can put the above strategy in action. Mar 13, Can some one please tell me where i learn fight for my marines Hacking, Mechanical and Engineering is all about 6 to 7 stars, but its useless if they cant fight. Mar 13, Fight is only trained by doing actual boardings. Engineering, Hacking and Mechanical skills can all be improved at training facilities which are typically the same stations where they can be hired: Military Outposts , Military Bases , or Marine Training Barracks , but also at Trading Stations and Stock Exchanges.
Training duration, cost, and effectiveness is the same everywhere. Training these skills is expensive and varies between 20,Cr to ,Cr per course and will take anywhere from a few minutes to several days. The training cost and duration depend on whether a Quick, a Normal or an Advanced training course is selected, and on the skill level the marine has when he starts training.
The number of skill points gained in the training is random, but depends on whether a Quick, Normal, or Advanced course is chosen. The formulas see: forum. The fastest training is achieved by training each skill individually with Quick courses, but this also requires the most player attention. The actual numbers for the duration in minutes for the single-skill courses at different skill levels are. Fighting skill can be trained only by successfully completing boarding operations.
After each successful boarding, each marine that participated in the boarding increases his Fighting skill by a random amount between 5 to 9 points, like a Quick training course in the other three skills does.
The success probability of boarding well-defended ships depends very greatly on the combined Fighting skill of the marines involved, so one should specifically train the marines' Fighting skill through practice boarding operations before taking on, say, Xenon or Terran vessels.
Boardable pirate vessels and ships from Return Ship missions are ideal for this: the former are quite easy to board, and the latter spawn without shield, weapons, or equipment, making them sitting ducks waiting to be boarded.

What's the fastest way for a marine to achieve maximum skill in: Engineering and Hacking or Mechanical; All three skills. Improve this question. It isn't directly relevant to your question, but fighting skill can be upgraded by boarding empty ships in Retrieve Ship missions - there aren't any shields or hostile fire to worry about, but the marines still have to fight their way to the bridge and therefore earn fighting skill for doing so.

They usually have bad stats but sometimes odd ones dont. ThornandSpec United States. Have you been able to repeat the phenomenon? It would be great if this was a reoccurring thing. If my mission goal was pissing off the entire ATF fleet, then consider it a success!
Seygantte United Kingdom. I can't speak for Cachurro's experience, but from my boarding operations I can verify Roguey's post. The marines on board the target ship bail out once your marines have reached the core, so if you scanned the ship and saw any good marines it's worth picking them all up to find it. I like to think of it as them seeing my superior marines and going "Nopenopenope" and running for the nearest airlock.
Scott United States. Last night I found a J in,grand exchange with 3 percent hull and 5 sheilds. I slammed a firestorm and typhoon A. No marines but boost in to from Teledia and 10 k credits. Did not pay for anythi.
